50th anniversary of the museum

This autumn, the celebrations continue with The Universe of Armand Schulthess, to be discovered from November 27. In 1976, a first temporary exhibition was dedicated to Armand Schulthess. Fifty years later, the museum offers a new perspective on his work, fueled by the considerable enrichment of its collections. This exhibition follows the anniversary exhibition Art Brut in Switzerland. From the origins of the collection to today, presented from February 28 to September 27, 2026, which traced the history of the link between Jean Dubuffet and Switzerland, the country to which he entrusted his collection in 1971.

Upcoming exhibition

The exhibition The Universe of Armand Schulthessinvites you to discover the singular work of this Swiss author who, as early as the 1950s, transformed his Tessin estate of nearly 18,000 m² into a fascinating encyclopedic garden. Close to 300 pieces, accompanied by photographs by Hans-Ulrich Schlumpf, bear witness to this now‑lost environment. Among them, an important collection acquired in 2024 by the Collection of Art Brut is presented to the public for the first time.
