In honor of the Heritage Days, a visit to the Rothéneuf (France) rock sculptures.

Upon the occasion of the Heritage Days in France, the "Amis de l'0euvre de l'Abbé Fouré" (Friends of Father Fouré's Oeuvre) sent out invitations to visit Father Fouré's rock sculptures in Rothéneuf, in France's Saint-Malo region. The preservation of this monumental site is in a critical state, and the association is endeavoring to come to the rescue of this outstanding environment.

Relieved of his parish work against his will due to his failing hearing,  "L'Abbé Fouré" (1839-1910), as he continued to be called, set out to carve the granite cliffs overhanging the sea at Rothéneuf, from 1894 to 1907. During that period he produced over 300  in-situ rock sculptures, together with sculptures in wood,  turning the house in which he lived as a recluse into  the "Musée Bois" (wood museum).

In honor of the Heritage Days, a visit to the Rothéneuf (France) rock sculptures on September 16th, 2012, at 2pm.
