A lecture by Sarah Lombardi at swissnex - San Francisco

The lecture will address the concept of Art Brut and its significance as Jean Dubuffet conceived and developed it - leading to the opening of the Collection de l'Art Brut in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1976. It will then present three authors of Art Brut for whom the dimension of touch is essential tothe creative process: Judith Scott, Emile Ratier, and Shinichi Sawada. The evening will also include the screening of a documentary film by Philippe Lespinasse (2006) - co-produced by the Collection de l'Art Brut (Lausanne) and Locomotive Films (Bordeaux) - featuring Judith Scott.
